We had the opportunity to taste Cantonese cuisine cooked by a Japanese chef for the first time at Atelier Hanada. The Cantonese cuisine was interpreted by Yohei Hanada in a refined and subtle manner. We began our meal with an Omotenashi, which was a delightful trio of amuse-bouche. It was then followed by a subtle Cantonese soup. The rest of the meal was highlighted by dishes such as Shrimp Delights and Kawachi-Duck.
Our degustation menu ended with clam fried rice and a delightful dessert called 'Early Spring'. To end our fantastic meal, we were given an incredible array of Chinese teas to accompany our petit four.
The drink menu was excellent, with a variety of cocktails that included both alcohol and non-alcoholic ingredients. Our sommelier, Mr. Okawa, presented us with a local orange wine that complemented the Kawachi duck perfectly. He also generously offered us a fine glass of white wine from Grace Koshu 2023.
The service from our waitress and the chef was joyful and delicate.
In Osaka, you can discover Cantonese cuisine with a different perspective by dining at Atelier Hanada.
Thank you to Chef Hanada and his sommelier, Mr. Okawa, for a lovely and delicious meal.
